Sunny, spring morning and a very good natured game ended with a comfortable home victory.
Trevor fails to turn up leading to Tony once again playing a leading role between the posts. Competent, commanding and unbeatable. His kicking is another asset long missing from Knobs make up.
We had a bare 11 and fortunately noone was injured and everyone stuck to their task till the end.
Saints provided two subs as linesmen and Alistair promptly upset one of them by exhorting him to change his top. We disassociated ourselves from Alistair, the bloke put on another top and we got under way.
Early on saw Sean involved with two delicious passes to the left which came to naught. I suppose it was fairly warm so the game seemed stretched from the off. We looked very competitive at the back and they had few shots to trouble us. One shot was scambled off the line but that seemed it. Gavin was looking sharp going forward but by half time there had been no end product. 0-0 half time.
The stale mate lasted till with 20 minutes left Knobs were awarded a penalty. Gavin hurtled forward at pace leaving the full back for dead. A last ditch lunge from the back toppled poor Gav but Steve scored easily from the spot. Shortly afterwards came the 2nd and 3rd. Sean hit an inside the full back pass which few but Gavin would have had the pace to latch onto. Manfully keeping his balance he did all the hard work before nearly missing! He didn't, it crawled inside the post. 2-0.
The best came last. A punt from Tony, was headed on by Vinnie to galloping Gavin. He turned an early ball inside, on the ground, to a beseeching Bully who with only the keeper to beat met the ball with the outside of his foot and hit top corner from 30 plus yards. Sumptious, classy and cultured. And of course meant!
A number of us adjourned to the sunny yet wind chilled 'garden' of the Lytton for the last time this season. From now on we take to the Station and all that it promises!
Thanks to Brendan for doing a line second half. With the flag that is.
Welcome to the festive ramblings of faraway Sir Ronald and his knobs Dancer Dave, Dasher Darren and Prancer Al. Do take the time to browse around and participate in the blog. Older, slower and fatter than ever, that's the festive knobs!
Faraway Sir Ronald
It's been on and off for years but finally the time has come for Sir Ronald to be put out to pasture in Pembrokeshire and become Faraway Sir Ronald. Plenty of gardening to be done and the drink is already a distant memory. The KNOBS, who are they?

Sean was injured. Well done for him marching on relentlessly.

That's four impressive league performances in a row. A pity it is all over.
Human bites can easily become infected due to the number of bacteria in the human mouth. In fact, human bite wounds are more likely to become infected than dog or cat bites.
Suarez is a disgrace. He's even too dirty for Vets football. I could see him having a right old tussle with the Tesco Vet centre back. Bully's goal - Goal of the Season??? Anybody else got other offerings. I think Ali has scored a couple of beauties.
I don't mean Chairman Al. Who is clearly going to win crosser of the season.
Some awards - Foul throw of the season, clearance of the season, cross of the season and promise of a new kit of the season.
Remember lads don't ever play a through ball down the hill - No one ever gets hold of those!
Sounded like a good game yesterday. Couldn't get there I am afraid. I'm not able to get out much following my op but luckily Asda has a great website to allow me to shop for bargains. I noticed that they are doing a clothing sale at the moment. Check it out - www.asda.com
Check out my new website, Dave is a new member, why not join him?

There were whispers on the non Bully side of the changing room that his goal was mis-hit and looked better that it was. Come on people, what do you think?
Don't cross Alistair, you wont like it.
Bully meant it unfortunately and we'll hear about it for a wee while yet.
Darren told me he did not mean it.
could have bit my arm when it flew in
